Last night the Knox County Commission voted to increase funding for schools by $7 million. It is not the entire amount requested by the KCS Board of Education but a huge step forward and all involved should be proud of the result. This is not the end of this campaign; instead it is the beginning of a larger community dialogue about investing in excellent schools. The community with the best schools wins!!

At the Knoxville Chamber's Pinnacle Business Awards on Friday night, Sharon Pryse took a moment during her acceptance speech to encourage the crowd to show their support for the KCS plan to fund an internationally competitive school system. Watch her speak here.

County Commission has announced a Budget Hearing and opportunity for Public Forum at 5pm on May 8th in the Main Assembly Room at the City-County Building.

The opposition will be there to voice their comments. Please attend and sign up to make comments in support!
